M.V."IONIC SMYRNI", 56,000 DWT Type Bulk Carrier with Huge Cargo Hold Capacity is LAUNCHED

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES) completed and delivered a 56,000 dwt type bulk carrier M.V. Ionic Smyrni (MES Hull No. 1846) at its Tamano Works on 18th April, 2013 to Ionic Smyrni Inc., Marshall Island.

This vessel is a handy max type Bulk carrier of 56,000 dwt with large cargo hold capacity over 70,000 m3 and marks the 155th ship of its series.
This 56,000 dwt ship is widely called as a Mitsui 56

FEATURES:
 1>The vessel is designed in accordance with IACS common      rules hence structural safety is been improved.
2>Good manageable size at summer draft.
3> The vessel has 5 cargo holds and 4 cranes for handling cargo.
4>To load various kinds of cargo the vessel Tank Top is made enough strength.
5>The size of hatch openings in this vessel is the largest in terms of both Length and Width.
6>cargo hold is well strengthed to load heavy cargo as HOT OIL.
7>Main engine is  MITSUI-MAN B&W Diesel Engine 6S50MC-C8.2, which is a light, compact and high output engine complying with MARPOL NOx restriction for exhaust gas. It has good enough power margin to provide a high degree of flexibility (at normal service output equals 75% maximum continuous output) and the lowest fuel oil consumption shall be realized by the optimum matching at normal service output.
8>Ballast water can be changed during navigation for protection of marine environment
